Hi everyone and welcome to the
Annual Fall Foliage Charity Bed Race.

On behalf of the Steering Committee I want to thank you for visiting our site and participating in our 2008 event. This is our third year (2009) and we want to make it bigger and better than last year. You can help us do that. Let me give you an idea of what you will be helping us accomplish.

During the last part of my parent's lives they were quite ill and were taken care of very well by the North Adams Regional Hospital. Not only did the hospital staff care well for my parents but they also helped my family deal with their illness and subsequent passing in a very caring manner. My wife and I wanted to find a way to show our gratitude and, somehow, thank the hospital and everyone involved. Thus, we came up with the idea of the bed race as an annual fund raiser for our community.

We approached Mayor Barrett and he supported this initiative from the beginning and we were off and running. Now we are in our third year and things are looking great. All proceeds for next year's event will be earmarked for Northern Berkshire Healthcare. In the years to come the Steering Committee will be identifying other local organizations to which the proceeds will benefit. We are very excited to support north berkshire through such a fun and community-spirited event.
